Hope everything goes well with HOPES
Hi all who read this article,
This is Yohei who is a member of the software development team at HOPES.
Since Covid-19 stroke out our daily life as well as ARLISS, we have got difficulties in keeping our project run. The thing is, not being able to go to the lab is so disgusting. Some reasons are that we cannot build a hardware part (the hardware team always complain about it, haha), and communicate with each other face to face, which is hard to facilitate our motivations.
What keeps our motivations is that, in my opinion, the individual motivations including that of the organizer of ARLISS, UNISEC. UNISEC works hard for us so that they can hold ARLISS this year. We are happy that there is still a possibility to participate in the competition. Appreciate it. Of course, we all hope that we do it.
Last week, they sent our mission statement back and gave us a lot of valid comments with the review. Refining our mission statement, building our rover, coding software, doing experiments, and so on, there are a lot of things left for us to do. Starting something with nothing is the best way to motivate ourselves rather than considering the future situation. Whatever will be will be.
It is true that our progress is a slow step and the current situation is hard for us. However, in order not to make our works vain, we just keep it going believing that everything goes well.
Hope,
Yohei
